About the organizer

The Friends of Hope Lodge is the nonprofit that supports Historic Hope Lodge, an 18th-century mansion in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania administered by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission. Since 1982 it has hosted the Whitemarsh Encampment reenactment each November, commemorating General Washington's army camped in the Whitemarsh Hills in 1777; the 45th is set for November 7, 2026 from 10am to 4pm. The day includes troop camp formations and skirmishes by Continental and British/Hessian reenactors, open-hearth cooking, craft demonstrations, children's activities, sutlers and tours of the mansion. It suits families and Revolutionary War history enthusiasts.
